said goat arrived with kid in tow. her name was variety and is now dulcinea of la mancha and her nameless kid is now aliyah of dune. there are many reasons that i could rattle off why we now have a goat (milk allergies, milk supply cycle issues) to name a few but mostly we have a goat because tabitha wanted one (or two as the case may be).
i spent my day fencing (no matt, no sword was involved).

We have thought of goats and sheep. The thought of having to redo our fencing has always stopped us!

angie, in true ozarks fashion i just attached an ensemble of scrap fence along the bottom of our existing five wire barb fence. the next fencing we do will be woven wire across the bottom.
Congrats on getting a goat. I would like to get a dairy goat at some point. We have 2 Boers that are doing a wonderful job of clearing our pasture.

ReplyDeleteI tried a while back to leave a comment again that I had taken time to ramble on but my lovely husband came by and pushed esc and erased it.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I think you live somewhere close to where I grew up, in Joplin. I bought my house out here because of the oak trees and reminding me of Joplin. My grandparents still live there and closed the foundry (Crouch's foundry) in Duenweg, you might see the water meter lids around that were one of the main things they made.
On to goats. I'm happy to be one of those people too. I just gave away 7 of mine the other day and miss them, but the whole reason I wanted them was milk and only one was good for that.
Off to get more nubians soon.
