signs of spring

seedlings. we have an incredible germination rate. my seed saving prowess is accumulating. for those of you that got our christmas seed package. no need to double up the seeds--even the small ones germinate.

100% germination whoo hoo.

the kids enjoying 60degree sand box play.

toly and tristan. see the winter wheat in the background? it too is sensing spring.

toly is feeling better. at least well enough to enjoy the sand.

tristan was being a great big brother. he was entertaining toly and keeping him safe.

kassi was flitting around the yard picking crocus. the first true signs of spring.

We're going to start our seeds today. No crocuses here yet. Still too cold I guess.

I almost didn't recognize Toly...he had clothes on! LOL
What a beautiful day outside for your kids. We almost named our 2nd son Tristan. But we had named our first son Teagan and we decided the two were a bit too similar, so son #2 became "Aidan" instead. :-)

Our crocuses have come and gone - they generally bloom late January/early February here.

That's impressive, Karl. My old seeds are surprising me by sprouting pretty good too. Sure is nice to be able to go outside again. Your kids look like they had a blast. Bet they'll sleep good. :)

Wow, that ice didn't last long! Wish we were that close to bare ground again.

I'm afraid the seasons are a blur to us in the subtropical world but those pics remind me of my childhood. Nothing like a warmer day to bring the brood outdoors. They are some beautiful youngsters, (the kids although the seedlings aren't bad either:)

It was foggy for a couple hours yesterday in Santa Barbara. It think it dipped into the 60's. Brrrr...cold snap! Sunshine and back in the 70's today.
