Bummer about the tomatos. Can you make ketchup? Catsup? Anything on a Merlin burger tastes great!
Oooh, bummer! The heartbreak after all the time and effort put in on the front end not to enjoy them on the back end. Food takes on a whole new meaning, doesn't it?
Love the zero mile thing. I was bummed about not getting in on the One Local Summer deal, and decided I should start my own challenge called Real Dish on Homesteading or something like that where we showcase meals or at least one dish made from homegrown bounty.
matt over at one local summer is really nice and will let you in. i have several non-compulsory make-up quizzes that i plan. sometimes i feel like a cheater. it's kinda like when i was in school in santa barbara and native spanish speaking students would take spanish.
I admire your effort Karl. Between you and Tabitha, I can't imagine how you ever get any time to sit down and just be yourselves. Preserving all that food is a lot of work. Keep up your experimenting though because I really enjoy reading about it.
