what is the deal? tabitha, tristan and anatoly have step throat. only kassi and myself have escaped it this far. i have been trying to keep up with the farmstead. the broiler chickens need to be moved but i don't have the heart the demand the help of tabitha. they will be fine. she'll be back on top soon.
kassi and her new dress.
the garden from the east/top side. the bean arches look like the five humped lockness monster.

The garden looks beautiful and bean arches certainly add "architectural interest." My back isn't what it used to be - - I think I'll have the bean arches next year. T's haircut is adorable; loved it long, too. Hope you all feel better soon.
What a bummer! I hope you all recover/don't get it too.
I discovered your blog through OLS and absolutely love it. You're doing - in the garden, with the animals - what we at some point would love to do. So I'm reading all your old entries for advice and, simply, encouragement.
prayers for a speedy recovery.....strep throat ain't no fun for an adult! don't know how the kiddies seem so unscathed by it!
What a bummer! I hope everyone feels better very soon.
On a positive note (and I know you're busy), I wanted to let you know how inspired I am by what you and your family are accomplishing. I've nominated you for the Bloggers for Positive Global Change Award ;).
So sorry to hear that Tabitha and the boys are sick. Seems like you picked up more at Target than what you bargained for, eh??
Love the bean arches this year. My husband has been watching your garden with interest because I'm pestering him to death with my desire to have them in my garden next year. Glad the panels are working out better for you than the bamboo.
Keep up the great work. I'm re-reading your entries from the beginning and learning new things from you.

katrien,
we hope so too. thanks for the reflective euncouragement some times we get lost in the moment and it is nice when someone provides us a lens to help enjoy the bigger picture.

wendy,
thanks for the well wishes. wow, i feel honored. i'm not sure how our little sliver of the ozarks interprets into global change but i'm happy to contribute anyway i can--lord knows we need to change.
