questions?

the weeds are just hiding. no really, tabitha is a very diligent gardener. i can't take any credit except purchasing the expensive hoe (mothers day present) that she loves--admittedly it does work amazingly well. we also have started mulching heavily.
the pole bean arch is made from local bamboo and sisal twine. it took a really long time to make but i think it is worth it. it looks very organic--kinda like a giant caterpillar. the aprons were her grand mothers passed along from her aunt. some of them are super cool--funky.

Are you going to leave the arch up for a couple years or have you thought that far ahead?

we'll see. i'd like it to last but being biodegradable means that we'll have to see.

It looks great!

I'm impressed with Tabitha's work! I'll hire her to come work in my garden!! :-)

I keep seeing Tabitha in pics with those garden shoes on (i.e like at that creek awhile back)- So I have to ask -are they comfortable to wear all the time or just for a bit? I have considered buying a pair but my last rubber garden shoes were uncomfortable to wear past walking TO the garden...
LOVE the bamboo trellis! Inspired to try one similar for my viney tomatoes, Thank you

the entire family has crocs or close replica. tristan hates them and the rest of us love'em. he calls them "creek shoes" cause that is when we force him to wear them. they are great for the rest of us. the soles are really soft, they clean easily and are cool on hot summer days. payless shoes has the closest replica and are cheap. crocs are pricey but offer a better pebble ejection mechanism---worth it for me.

Wow, I love the bean trellis! I did a pea trellis out of apple branches and binder twine this year and I a lot of fun doing it. I'm going to have to swipe your idea next year.
