Cool wheelbarrow! Gotta tell ya' though, the castor bean plants kinda freak me out. What can you do with them? Any delicious dishes? I just don't want those things accidently getting swallowed by babies.

a few days ago, i clipped the flowers off the largest one as to not form seeds. the seeds are the real threat. the rest of the plant is not fatal.

What are the tin can things hanging upside down on some of your fence posts in the back of the garden?? Have you guys got some canning done this week with Tabitha's mom visiting?

danielle the cans are just protecting the tops of the fence post making them last longer. plus the are getting rusty and adding to the old-time-feel of the fencing. there has been some canning of tomatoes, peaches and freezing edamame. our tomatoes are still not producing much more than we can eat. admittedly we eat tons of tomatoes. it's kinda like forest gump and his uses for shrimp. except it our uses for tomatoes are far more vast.

I hear ya about the tomatoes. Joe is on me about canning but I keep pointing out to him that we eat them fresh, I make tomato soup and salsa and there just isn't enough left to justify canning. I made spaghetti sauce and frankly I'd rather make the soup than can.
